Xavier de Paris xavier@ noos.fr This is the rumour … but unlikely to be true for various reasons: The “Prince Albert” was not believed to have been named after Albert as Prince Consort and husband of Queen Victoria, but rumoured to have been linked to Prince Albert, Duke of Clarence and Avondale (known as “Prince Eddy), Albert and Victoria's grandson, gay and well known in London circles of the time before his death, and also alleged to have been a “Jack the Ripper” suspect, without any proof whatsoever.. There is said to be no substantive evidence that either Prince had a “Prince Albert” body piecing, according to many who have written on this subject.
